hÄnglar & stÄnglar Christmas Challenge!!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!!! Gosh, I hope that you are all having a marvelous beginning to your week!! I had my first radiation session yesterday and other than a bit of burning, I think it will be okay.....yeah, I know, famous last words!!! lol But nothing that we ALL can't handle!!!! One down and either 34 or 39 to go!!! Just a few more weeks of inconvenience!!

I had intended to post my birthday SWEET STUFF today but...last holiday season, several of us received hÄnglar & stÄnglar Christmas stamps for gifts a bit late to use them for holiday cards....

So, my sweet friend Claudia decided to challenge several of us to use them NOW!!! Of course she would try to make it as difficult as possible because she asked that we make a card that is 4 3/4" X 6 3/4", knowing that I was at a complete loss!!!! In additon she gave us the sketch to the left to use...lol...Oh My Goodness, I have NEVER made a card that is not 6"X6" so please let me know how I did!!!!! Eeeeek!!!! Please go visit the blogs of Carole and Claudia and let them know what you think of their magnificent cards....

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base and for all matting; the DP is from the Mistletoe Collection by Memory Box. All background panels were machine stitched. The image was stamped on Cryogen White and cut out so she could be propped up for dimension. The upper arch was made with the George Cricut cart, encircled with a pleated burgundy satin ribbon and touched with a Stempleglede flourish which was a gift from the ultimately talented and creative Christina. The image was colored with Copics. The trim on her cap and the pompon were made using white Liquid Applique. The horizontal is matching burgundy satin ribbon with sidepieces made from the same and tied with natural jute twine, adding a tiny stocking charm to the left side. The bottom ticket sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Odds and Ends Collection. The front was finished with small green half pearls to soften all of the corners.

The inside of my card is very simple....on the first panel I added a Cats Life circular greeting and on the second panel a trouch of Stempleglede fluorishes on the jotting spot.

I hope you like my little creation and will leave me a note telling me what you think. I also hope you will return often...I hope to have my BIRTHDAY SWEET STUFF posted before Saturday so I do hope you will have a peek at that.

Have a wonderful week and ENJOY yourself, whatever you may be doing and wherever you may be!!! Big hugs!!! Until we meet again, may life bring smiles and much happiness to YOU!!!

Tilda With Birdcage at Just Magnolia

A very happy and pleasant Saturday to each of you! I hope you are well into a marvelous weekend! It has been so hot here in the mountains that crafting in air conditioning is the joy of the day!! So let's just enjoy each moment of our weekend no matter where we are!!

This week at Just Magnolia the Design Team was challenged to make a "VINTAGE" card and I must share with you that this was VERY difficult for me and I'm not sure I even met the mark of getting creative with Olde World charm. We hope that you will drop over to see the lovely cards the DT has made and will grab one of your Maggies and join in with us this week. Remember that you can combine our challenge with any other challenges of your choice as long as the main image on your creation is a Magnolia stamp. This will qualify to be in the draw for the fab prize which this week is being offered by The Cutting Cafe. Also please remember NO back linking, new projects/cards only please.

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, SU for matting, and the DP is from 7 Gypsies Victoria paper pack. You can see a bird cage like Tilda is holding at the very right side bottom on the background paper....I think it would have been better to have more of the cage showing but I could not cut the paper that way.....sigh... Little Tilda With Birdcage, available at Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White, colored with Copics and a bit of Spica Silver for the cage. I attempted to age the image with Old Paper Distress Ink. I also used the same ink on the two round paper doilies which were situated to hold the oval Nesties. I used a piece of antique lace and toffee organza ribbon for the horizontal, adding a Bow-Easy bow and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. To complete the front I added a cute parrot charm and copper half pearls to the corners AND to Tilda's Mary Jane shoes. Please let me know what you think! I love hearing from you!!

Note: How about dropping over and checking out the latest Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbons and while you are there drop in on Bonnie's Shop to see the phenomenal selection of ribbons, trims, etc. that she has in stock and that you could win in the challenge!! If you have never visited this shop, you will be AMAZED!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by to see us today and I hope you will come back often! Have a great weekend!! Big hugs for all!!

Little Ballerina Tilda at Friday Sketchers #112

Happy Friday Everyone!! Thanks so much for dropping by! I hope you have had a marvelous week and are looking forward to an even better weekend!! I am going to enjoy this one since this Monday I begin 7-9 weeks of radiation, Monday through Friday for each of those weeks. I will be glowing for sure then!! lol

Today at Friday Sketchers we are being hosted by the marvelously talented and creative Jeanette from Canada who has provided us with a fun and very useable sketch. There is also a wonderful prize from Simon Says Stamp so I hope you will come over and play along with us using Jeanette's marvelous sketch!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI Sweet Blush and Spring Rain, and the DP is Melissa Frances. I used the darling little Ballerina Tilda from Magnolia-licious and it looks as though she is not available at the moment but I'm sure if you contact Diana she will tell you the status of this cutie. She was stamped twice on Cryogen White and colored with Copics, adding a bit of Diamond Stickles and Prisma Glitter. One of the images was cut out and propped up for dimension. I used pink tulle for the horizontal, adding a ballet shoe button for the closure. I also added several pink half pearls, a rose button, and the floral treatment is a combination of a Magnolia Shabby Chic Tulle Rose from Magnolia-licious and smaller roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I didn't have time to complete the inside of my card because of doctors' appointments but hopefully will add it over the weekend for you to see. Somehow I don't feel like my card is finished unless the inside is completed also...sigh

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Jeanette's's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!

Countrified Tilda at Just Magnolia, WINNER, and SWEET STUFF!!!

I set this to post yesterday to wish a very happy Saturday and a marvelous weekend to everyone!! Since it didn't post, I now wish for you a marvelous Sunday!! I hope your week was a pleasant one and that your weekend will be and has been fun-filled and enjoyable as well!

This week at Just Magnolia we were treated with a marvelously fun sketch by the oh so talented and creative Bev Rochester. I would love for you to come over to Just Magnolia to have a peek at the lovely cards made by the Design Team--they are beautiful!! And if you participate in using Bev's sketch this week, the splendid prize is being offered by Jacobi.nl. So come on over, get your Maggies out, and show us your interpretation of the sketch...We would love to have all of you Maggie Lovers join in with us this week...AND every week!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy PTI CS, and the Yellow gingham DP is Making Memories (thank you so much, Suzan) and the patchwork quilting DP is from the BG Junebug Collection. All background panels were machine stitched. Little Tulle Skirt Tilda was stamped twice on Cryogen White so that one of her images could be cut out and propped up for dimension. She was colored with Copics, adding a touch of Stickles to her petticoat and tiny red brads for her jean dress buttons. To ground her I used a branch from the Fall/Winter Tree. It looks as though the Tilda is available over at Diana's Shop but the tree is not in the present inventory. If you would like it, please contact Diana and see what the status is. The patchwork quilt DP is matted and bordered with a MS Quilted punch, For the rthin horizontals, I used red, yellow, and blue satin cording. For the floral treatment I used flat flowers from Crafty Feeling and the red asters are from Wild Orchid Crafts. To satisfy the sentiment requirement, I tied a LOVE charm to the tree branch with hemp twine. Finally I used larger red brads to soften the main corners.

For the inside of the card, I used a triad of flat flowers for the first panel and a punch around the page square jotting spot with tiny mixed colors satin ribbon Bow-Easy bow. I hope you like my little creation!

WINNER...The winner of the Belles'n Whistles Sweet Stuff is...

The NON-Bridesmaid Tilda at Friday Sketchers #111

A very happy Friday to Everyone!! I hope you have all had a magnificent week!! Mine was wonderful! The oncologist called on Wednesday and told me that all of the tests that I went through last week showed NOT a single cell of recurring malignancy after the chemo!!! That was tremendous news...My first reaction was, so now I don't have to go through radiation!!!! WRONG!! I will have to be tattooed and enjoy 7-9 weeks of whole breast radiation soon. I can hardly wait for the glowing to begin...HAHA!! AND...my hair is starting to grow!!! It is already about a 1/2 inch long!!! Hey!!! It's not a ponytail yet but anything is an improvement...I think,......smiles

Today at Friday Sketchers we are being hosted by the marvelously talented and creative Janneke from the Netherlands who has provided us with a fun and challenging sketch. There is also a wonderful prize from Digi Doodle Shop so I hope you will come over and play along with us using Janneke's marvelous sketch!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI Hawaiian Shores and Scarlet Jewel, the DP is all from the Kaisercraft Utopia Collection. All background panels were machine stitched. I also used Bridesmaid Tilda from the Wedding Collection at Magnolia-licious and stamped her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics....adding a bit of Diamond Stickles to her wings, Burgundy Stickles to the flowers, and Diamond Glaze to her little shoes. To ground her I used Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft. You can see that this is certainly not a wedding card, but rather points out the many uses for so many of the Maggie stamps...she could be used for so many occasions and events depending upon the colors you use for her....Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Thank You, and tons of others!! AND she is available now at Diana's shop!! For the vertical I used a wide stitched turquoise grosgrain ribbon. I also used a couple of antiqued brass metal pieces--a cornerpiece and a frame for the required sentiment which was computer generated using Papyrus font. The frame reminded me of a gate ornament so I used Moss Green Leaves from the wonderful Really Reasonable Ribbon shop and Stickled burgundy roses from Wild Orchid Crafts to create the climbing rose floral treatment.

The inside of the card is quite simple, using the the same papers and wide grosgrain ribbon as the front, adding bows in Scarlet Jewel satin ribbon from PTI and turquoise banded organza ribbon.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using Janneke's sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!
Aud, Bea, Carole, Claudia, Inge, Jacqueline, Janneke, Jeanette, Tanja

Sleepytime at Belles 'n Whistles Challenge Blog and SWEET STUFF!!

Happy Monday, Everyone!!! I hope you all had a magnificent, fun-filled weekend and are ready to start a great week! I go for a CT scan today which will indicate exactly where the radiation regimen will be so I have a very easy week!! Yippppeeee!!

I am honored to be hosting the Belles 'n Whistles Challenge this week so I would love for you to come over and join in with us...or at least just visit and see the wonderful cards made by the DT using my sketch.

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is Melissa Francis...love her papers!!! All panels were machine stitched. The darling image is Sweet Dreams from Belles 'n Whistles and designed by Elisabeth Bell. She was stamped twice on Cryogen White so that one of the images could be propped up for dimension. She was colored with Copics....Notice I said she, but this could just as easily be a darling baby boy if done in different colors!! I used a paper doily, some wide picot edged ribbon and gathered eyelet lace for the remaining elements. For embellishments I added several buttons--Baby ABC blocks, diaper pin, and bottle, as well as a small bouquet of pink roses.

The inside of the card is more of the same...adding more wide picot ribbon and a handful of baby themed buttons.

I hope you like my little creation and will pay a visit to the Belles 'n Whistles Blog. We would love to see you there!!

Happy Saturday to each one of you!!! I hope you had a marvelous week and are well into a fun-filled and exciting weekend!! I know I certainly am!! I have met with the radiologist and was quite impressed with him...BUT I go Monday for a CT scan to mark the precise area...and then the radiation regimen will begin in a couple of weeks and will last from 7-9 weeks and that means going EVERYDAY except Saturday and Sunday...Just how exciting is that???? Gosh I will be glowing with the very best!!!

I am so thrilled to post my Just Magnolia DT Sample Card for this week because it really put the reins on me...lol...This week there is a recipe we had to follow (when I tell you what it is, you will know how difficult this card was for me...haha) We had to use 3 flowers, 2 designer papers, 1 ribbon...yes, that is all we could use...no more, no less!!!! Gosh!! I hope you will join us this week and let us see how you will use this recipe! There is a magnificent prize this week from Creative Treasures and after you see it, I'm sure you will want to have a chance at it!!!!

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is from the Basic Grey Origins paper pack and PTI dotted paper pack. All panels were machine stitched. Little Flower Girl With Petals from Magnolia-licious was stamped on Cryogen White, colored with Copics, a bit of Yellow Liquid Pearls and a touch of Diamond Stickles. She is now available in Diana's shop so hurry on over and check this little darling out! I used 3 flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a toffee organza ribbon with bow using a Bow-Easy, a few toffee pins, half pearls to soften the corners, and a MS border punch.

For the inside I used papers from the same BG collection and more dotted PTI paper, adding more organza ribbon and a couple of heart buttons! I hope you like my recipe card and will pay a visit to the Just Magnolia challenge blog to check out the very creative and lovely DT sample cards--they are magnificent this week!!!

Thank you so much for coming by to see Tilda and me today and I hope you will return again often! Your visits have truly been the inspiration which continues to motivate me to create!! Enjoy your weekend and hopefully it will be filled with many smiles and much happiness... Maggie Hugs for all!!!

The ribbon is PTI, the asters are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and I have used a couple of dog themed buttons. The leash is just hemp twine.

I hope you like my little creation and will be able to join us at Friday Sketchers this week. We would love to see your card using my sketch!! Please visit each of the Sassy Sketcher Girls' blogs and let them know what you think of their magnificent creations!!!

Kite Flying at Flower Soft and The {Stamps} of Life BLOG HOP and a wee bit of SWEET STUFF for YOU!!

NOTE: Obviously Blogger had a problem earlier today and the first 71 comments do not appear below but luckily I received email notifications of everyone who has left a comment so EVERYONE will be listed by hand and included in the SWEET STUFF draw. It was an across the board Blogger problem which affected everyone's comments. Sometimes computers will just drive ya NUTZ!!!

A very happy Tuesday to everyone!! I hope your week has started as well as mine! I had the chemo port removed today from my chest so all that remains is a bald head and a few stitches!! So we are improving greatly...I find out tomorrow when the 6-8 weeks of everyday radiation begins but heck, that's nothing!! So all is well here!! We are getting closer and closer to cartwheel time!! SMILES!!

Are we all ready to have some FUN, FUN, FUN? Today is the joint Blog Hop with Flower Soft and The {Stamps} of Life. If you have arrived here first I would ask that you start at the Flower Soft Blog for all of the instructions. However, if you have arrived here from Jeanne's blog, you seem to be on the right track. As you hop along, please make sure that you comment on each post since there will be six prizes chosen randomly from the participating blogs--3 prize packages will be from Flower Soft and 3 stamp sets from The {Stamps} for Life. The prize winners will be announced on the Flower Soft blog and The {Stamps} of Life blog on Wednesday,July 14. Good Luck to everyone!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is SU, and the DP is Cosmo Cricket. All panels were machine stitched. I stamped the cute Moments in Time-Kite Stamp on Cryogen White and colored it with Copics, adding Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft to the grassy area. I also used a sentiment placed on triple Nesties from Kites2Fly from The {Stamps} of Life. To replicate the kite theme I used natural hemp twine for the kite string and tiny red and blue bows (made with a fork rather than a Bow-Easy) on the front of my card.

For the inside of my card, I again used the kite theme with a Copic colored kite from the Kites2Fly stamp set and more twine and bows. The jotting spot is again triple Nesties.

If you would like even more inspiration than you will find at the magnificent blogs of this joint DT and/or if you like video tutorials, make sure and check out both The {Stamps} of Life and Flower Soft TV for weekly videos, specials, and product news!

Tilda with Parasol Greets You to Just Magnolia and SWEET STUFF!!!!

Gosh!!! What a great weekend!! A marvelous Sunday to everyone and hopefully your weekend is a splendid one also!!! With beautiful weather and terrific friends, who wouldn't have a marvelous weekend??

This week at Just Magnolia we are challenged with a Criss-Cross card and were given a magnificent tutorial by the splendidly talented and delightful Jeanette Comerford of Happy Thoughts and Inkspots. Because this is our special monthly challenge, we have Simon Says Stamp to sponsor us with an amazing $30 voucher to spend in their store. So I hope all of you Maggie Lovers will come over and check out the breathtaking cards that the DT have created as well as join us this week by showing us your own creation using the Criss-Cross tutorial and at least one Magnolia stamp.

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is Prismatics, and the DP is all from the Enchanted paper pack by Memory Box Co. I machine stitched most of the panels. Rather than use the criss-cross as my entire card, I reduced the size and used it to hold a greeting tag. Tilda with Parasol was stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copics, adding a touch of Stickles to the flowers on her hat. Although she is from Magnolia-licious, it looks as though she is out of stock. However, if you contact Diana I am sure she will try to get her for you! For the criss-cross tag holder, I outlined it with lavender half pearls, adding pearls to soften all corners also. For the tag I used Stickle covered lavender roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, sprigs of MS branches, and a lavender organza ribbon holding a parasol charm. At the bottom of the tag I embossed a Cornish Heritage Farms HELLO with eggplant EP.

For the inside of the card, the first panel is simply a couple of lavender organza Bow-Easy flat bows holding a couple of silver parasols.

For the jotting panel I replicated a much smaller criss cross to hold the jotting tag, adding more lavender half pearls, small lavender roses and a pull of organza ribbon. I apologize for the quality of my pics on this submission but I waited til late in the day to make the pics...sigh

I hope you have enjoyed my creation and will consider joining us at Just Magnolia this week....we would love to see your interpretation of Jeanette's wonderful criss-cross tutorial.

Because I think you are all so wonderful and I haven't done this in about a week, I would love to offer you a chance at some MAGNOLIA SWEET STUFF!!!!

1 Magic Tilda
1 Magic Wand
1 Fairytale Paper Pack
5 Lavender and Green Mulberry Gardenias
2 Bunches of Lavender Mulberry Roses and Asters
2 yards of Lavender Organza Ribbon
1 Prima Galaxy Stars

Please leave your comment before Thursday, July 8, at Noon DST to be eligible. I hope you will tell all of your Maggie Loving Friends also. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you very much for your visit and I am hoping that you come back often! I appreciate each of you so very much and thank you sincerely for the many lovely comments and your cards and emails of support and concern! May your Sunday be delightful and your week a special one!! Big Maggie hugs!!

Tilda Sits Under the Rose Arbor and WINNER!!

A magnificent Saturday to each and every one of you!!!! I had my follow-up visits this week with the oncologists and chemo folks and the word is that now I must endure 6-8 weeks of radiation EVERYDAY...Gosh!! Do I have time for all of this??? I guess I will make time!! On Monday I have mammos, gamma imaging, and who knows what all of those other tests are?? BUT the good news is that they will also remove the port in my chest that they have so happily used for all of the chemo treatments...so that's a great sign!!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed for the best of all worlds...smile!!!!!

I am so pleased to be able to show you the card I have done for the Magnolia-licious challenge for the month of July which is a stand-up card. You can find all particulars and the link for instructions on the Magnolia-licious High-lites site so I hope you will join with us this month and let us all see your magnificent creations.

For my card, I used Bazzill for the base...all matting is PTI, and the small touch of DP is from the Papermania Rose Garden Collection. That sweet little Sitting Wedding Tilda and the lovely Wedding Rose Arch are both from Magnolia-licious and I am thinking they are both available and can be used for so many occasions and events!! The Arch and Tilda were stamped on Cryogen White and of course Tilda was stamped twice and cut out so that she could be propped up with dinensional tape. I colored all with Copics and for all of the flowers I used a technique presented by Susie Haghighi last year some time which uses two colors of Liquid Pearls (Ruby Red and Pastel Raspberry) swirled together with a toothpick--I added dots of Lemon Yellow to the centers. I used pink gingham ribbon and ruffles, all from Really Reasonable Ribbon, to the base of the card and to the outside edge of the stand-up, placing several tulle/mulberry roses (Thanks, Suzan...hugs!!) on the base and on the leaf ribbon vine. To finish the card I added a couple of organza butterflies and Bow-Easy flat bows.

For the jotting side of the card, I left it very simple and added more bows. I hope you like my little submission to the Magnolia-licious Challenge!!!

WINNER...please forgive me for being late with this announcement but I have not had time this week to be on-line very much because of appointments, tests, etc. But my sincere thanks to everyone who dropped by to leave their thoughts. The winner of the Flower Soft SWEET STUFF is...

Auntie Em who said:
I am so glad you have the worst of the treatments behind you. There are too many wonderful things to do and see to be ill and I think you know how to enjoy them all! Beautiful card, as always! Thanks for sharing your time and talents! :o)

So it looks as though this surprise is going to New Brunswick, Canada. Auntie Em, please contact me before Wednesday, July 7 at Noon DST so that I can get your package to you right away!

My sincere thanks to each of you for dropping by to see what's happening in my jumbled up world! It is a much happier and kinder place because you are all such a very important part of it. The many comments, emails, etc that you send to me, have made my life much nicer and I appreciate the constant encouragement so much...Enjoy your weekend and I hope to see you all again real soon! Big hugs for all!!
